How do I book my pet in?

First, please enquire to check we have availability, we can then send you a booking form by email or take details over the phone.

Email us at bunnyhavenhotel@hotmail.com, or call 07505 993313, or contact us section.

50% deposits will be requested to secure the space once the booking is accepted.

Can I visit for a tour?

Tours are welcomed and are solely for new clients, who have an accepted provisional booking form. This is 15 minutes and advisable to do as soon as possible if you wish to secure a space. Delays to reply, repeated cancellations of tours may result in the provisional booking being cancelled. Bookings are not secure until a deposit is paid.

What times can I drop and collect my pet, can I bring my family?

Check-in and check-out are by appointment only at the advertised times. We allocate 15 mins for the process and to keep this smooth, clients must be on time as we often have multiple appointments and back-to-back hutch allocations. Lateness is chargeable.

We only need 1 person per family to attend. Ask your family to give pets their 'goodbye kisses and cuddles' at home. We keep the hotel peaceful for the pets, our neighbours and our home, particularly during peak seasons and to reassure other clients and yourself that we do not operate like an attraction or petting farm, as all the guests need a peaceful home-from-home.

We have a video tour available, filmed May 2021. Follow Facebook link

(Please note greens are chargeable and bonding service no longer available)

What do I need to bring?

Please bring more than enough of your pets dried nugget food in it's original packaging or in a plastic tub, dried forage and 50p for the Veg Kitty, plus Vaccine proof for rabbits and toys/ treats. We supply Timothy Hay to all pets.

Birds and other animals in their own cage, should come in a clean, freshly made up cage with food and special bedding if needed, and a ball for exercise for small rodents.

How long do they get to go outside?

All pets  go out everyday, weather dependent. We aim for as long as possible, 3 or 4 hours at least and maybe longer / the whole day if the hotel is less busy. This is daylight hours only and not dawn or dusk or night time. Birds will not be able to fly outside their cage.

My rabbit is not vaccinated and not neutered. Can they stay?

Vaccine - No, we cannot accept rabbits without full immunity. If you cannot vaccinate your rabbit,  please research a pet sitter or friend to attend to them in your absence.

Neuter - Yes, unneutered rabbits can stay but we encourage neutering, which gives a more peaceful stay for the pet. This is to avoid nesting, mounting/ mating, spraying, frustration, chewing, chasing, aggression and fighting. Unneutered rabbits often display many of the above when they smell and see new rabbits in the hotel.

My rabbit is a house rabbit, will you keep them in your house? I am worried they will get too hot/cold, do you put the heating on/ have air con?

All rabbits and guinea pigs, including free roam house bunnies are housed in their own safe spacious hutch inside the bunny hotel, and go outside for exercise. Most the rabbits are house rabbits and adjust very well. We do not keep pets inside our home.  If you do not want your pet rabbit to play outside, we cannot take the booking as they need exercise and we need time to muck out their hutch. Guinea pigs may not be suited to outside play in winter.

The bunny hotel is insulated and stays temperate. You can supply us with a Snuggle Safe heats pads for localised warmth. We have a heater for very cold weather but due to the build quality, and the pets are inside a hutch, inside a building, this heater is rarely used. Heating is not on all the time as we avoid fluctuating the temperature, as the pets are all from different home environments. Rabbits cope better in cooler temps then heat, so winter shouldn't be a concern.

From Spring 2023, have an air conditioning unit for heat waves and can use frozen ice pods or water bottles inside hutches.

Do the pets play together?

No, the pets do not play with other animals, apart from their own companion. They may see other pets at a distance. Exercise time is not supervised as we are often mucking out whilst they play, but we will be on site. If we go off site, all pets are in their hutch.

What shall I transport my pet in?

Please bring a secure carry case, which we will label and may use inside the run as a hidey hole, in case your pet is very nervous being handled or to go to the vet. We also get them ready about 15 minutes before check-out ready for a swift handover.

Can I have an update on my pet via Whattsapp?

Yes of course!  Save our number into Whattsapp 07505 993313. We want clients to feel assured, so we try to contact all clients with an update and photo. This may be after a few days once we get a nice photo and a worthwhile update.

We are very busy from morning until night, 7 days per week, with all the animals, mucking out and client appointments, so we do what we can to reply as soon as we get a chance. Some photos may be shared to our Instagram & Facebook.

Excessive, persistent or daily requests for updates cannot be fulfilled (see T&C's).  Please respect normal working hours like any other business, and note that we are not a 24 hour hotline to pets!

Do you own or board rats, ferrets, cats or dogs?

We do not have cats or dogs, and will not board any of the above. We only board prey animals so the guests are safe from predators.
